Alloy's Outdoor "Oculus" Rooftop Lounge

Outdoor rooftop terrace with striped banquette seating, dining tables, sculptural hanging chairs, and landscaped planters under a partially covered pavilion with dramatic lighting and shadows.

Your Outdoor Living Room (with a View)

Stylishishly configured with comfy seating areas, lush planter boxes, and thoughtful lighting, Alloy's Oculus lounge creates a sheltered-yet-open outdoor space with incredible, high-rise views of the surrounding Arts District neighborhood and beyond.

The layout is centered around built-in banquette seating with striped cushions, creating a restaurant-like dining setup that's far more intentional than the usual mix of patio furniture. Sculptural hanging chairs add whimsy, while planters with mature trees and greenery blend organic warmth with privacy.

The most compelling aspect is how the overhead structure and circular oculus frame a mature tree as both centerpiece and timekeeper. Throughout the day, sunlight filters past its branches and through the concrete opening, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow across the walls and seating. What begins as bright, dappled light gradually softens as the sun moves, changing the mood of the space hour by hour. The tree and oculus work together to create a natural lighting effect that feels organic and unforced, yet completely transformative.

The Oculous lounge is part of Alloy's rooftop amenity level, which also includes an outdoor pool terrace, and an indoor lounge area with fireplace.

A contemporary courtyard in features a mature tree growing through an opening in a wooden slatted ceiling of the Oculus lounge. The tree is planted in a large concrete planter that doubles as seating with gray cushions. Concrete steps lead up one wall, while wooden side tables and additional seating create an intimate outdoor living space beneath the natural canopy.
